I am reeling.

I knew that a certain major plot point would occur but I did not know the hows and whys.

Oh my god, Subaru. You never fail to break my heart.

Oh Seishirou. Only you could leave such a situation with a smile on your face.

Oh Hokuto. All of your best laid plans turn to dust. This is no exception.

The more I hear this, the more I hear Subaru in it. "What formerly cheered me now / seems insignificant." One would think that he would have been at such a point after the events of Tokyo Babylon, but, even then, he had goals to reach and something to long for. Now there is no hope for this man amongst the living or the dead.

And next week brings us to volume 16 and Rainbow Bridge. Hallowed, precious, TEAR JERKING. Since I'll be reading this one on ye olde computer, I may break down and read it early next week.

I finished about thirty minutes ago. Thoughts so far:

spoilers for volumes ten and eleven )

These two volumes really seemed to mark time instead of push things forward. We get a few nice glimpses at characters but nothing really happens. But, as eleven ends with a showdown between Kamui, Subaru, and Fuuma, things promise to get more interesting next week.

My thoughts are a bit scattered right now. But for right now --

cut for potential spoilers )

On a final, superficial note, can I say how much I hate Viz's job on X. Why did they flip it? It's surprisingly harder to read it this way. And they look infinitely more lackluster when compared Tokyopop's job on Tokyo Babylon. Flipped and flimsy covered will never look good when compared to unflipped, sturdy covered, and color inserted.
