The Virgin Suicides (1993; 1999)
Mar. 21st, 2010 11:04 pmI finished the book yesterday morning. I finished the movie around 30 minutes ago.
The book? I loved. It was at once riveting and angering. Nothing is solved but you have plenty of spoken and unspoken information given to you so that you might come to your own conclusions. While not as good as Middlesex, it was hard to put down.
The movie? Shallow, shallow, lame, lame, lame. A solid cast wasted on Coppola's first foray into style-over-substance cinema.
