I am somewhat behind on my silent film viewing/commenting. In part, this is because my main outlet has momentarily dried up. But this is also because I am really freaking lazy and have a backlog to work through. As you may be aware, there isn't really a demographic that'll watch yea olde silents during the afternoon or prime time. They usually come on (in my time zone, that is) after 10PM or, in most cases, sometime between 2AM and 6AM. This is all well and good for the insomniac population but is more than a pain in the ass for those of us who have to work. So I tape (yes, with that good old dinosaur VHS) and save for later. Later just sometimes happens to be six months later.

So here is a rundown of what I've got to watch. If I somehow managed to watch a film and then talk about it, I provided the link to this truly bizarre occurrence.

Note: a) Not all of these are silents and b) this list is not in any sort of chronological taping order.

There are also a few things that I didn't tape but still have to write up: The Show Off (meh), The Dragon Painter (mostly entertaining fable), and The Cheat (FLAMES! FLAMES! GOD I HATE YOU ALL!/Excellent use of light and shadow). The Student Prince In Old Heidelberg comes on the 24th and The King of Kings (which I bailed on a few months ago) comes on the 30th. Then the schedule shifts to showing films at a halfway decent hour (for just a month, mind you) so that I don't have to tape and stall.
