In a moment of what can only be described as madness, the boyfriend and I splurged on PC games. He got one of the Age of Civilization games and I got Sims 2: Open for Business.
I haven’t played much over the last few months because my video card has been freaking out and crashing at various points during game play. It would only act up when I played the Sims 2. After one of my college kids lost the randomly found love of his life, it seemed like too much of a problem to play around and then have all of those hours lost to a peevish bit of technology. Or I should’ve started saving more. Either way, it was annoying.
On a lark, we checked out the Dell site again to see if they had the upgrade for my card (note: Intel had it but I could not use that upgrade because it didn’t come directly from Dell – stupid computer demanding I use theirs instead of the one from the part manufacturer). I think I played about 5 to 5.5 hours yesterday without a hitch. YAY! I'm caught up on expansion packs until next Tuesday when the Pets add on comes out. I have nearly a week to download add-ons indiscriminately!
Here’s hoping that I’ll be able to tear myself away for the computer to do real life things instead of just sitting around leading virtual people along in their virtual, though awesome, lives.
